BEAUTY MYTHS

Granted there are many Beauty Myths out there and while I agree with a few things mentioned; some of the information or advice given in the following video are False and misguided. Especially the one about water not hydrating the skin and FACIALS doing nothing for the SKIN. Exfoliation does NOT equate to a professional Anti-aging Facial.

ESTHETICIAN SERVICES ARE BENEFICIAL & produce results
A trained-professional Aesthetician is your first line of defense for normal, problematic and aging skin. Dermatologists, who often prescribe medication and are more costly, are a last resort for more Serious skin issues such as Rosacea, severe acne, skin rashes and allergies (clients are referred to reputable dermatologist when needed). A facial should be done by a professional skincare specialist at least twice a year or as the seasons change (4 x a year); and involves more than just exfoliation. Professional treatments include laser therapy, microdermabrasion and Beneficial-Advance skincare treatments involved in facials for mature skin (anti-aging), acne-prone, dry, oily, combination and sensitive skin types—**all at a fraction of the COST of seeing a dermatologist for the same services**. You will receive consultation addressing concerns and guidance in picking a good Home skincare regimen for your skin type.

WATER DOES ‘HELP’ not only HYDRATE & FLUSH the SKIN and Body System but also the Hair. This has been scientifically PROVEN; not to mention the many random "Water Challenges" done by people who have posted before and after photos & videos of their results of drinking recommended amount of water daily for a month. The Results were impressive—Smoother hydrated skin, reduced fine lines and eye puffiness among other improvements.

Stay tuned for Follow up post with more information at a later time on more so-called myths that are actually proven to be effective…

FRESH LEMON JUICE AND HONEY ...

A tablespoon of Honey a day keeps the doctor away... Honey has many health benefits and can be used internally or outside the body for natural hair and skincare remedies. Bee pollen has been used successfully to treat a variety of ailments including asthma, allergies, constipation, anemia, low energy, cancer, arthritis and toxic conditions.

Lemon is also a well know and excellent source of natural Vitamin C ingredient great for your skin and body. Lemon and other citrus fruits provide health benefits including lowering your risk of anemia, cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. ,

LEMON AND HONEY to boost immune & metabolism:
Start your day with a tablespoon of Raw Unfiltered Organic Honey a day and also add fresh juice from 1/2 Lemon to your glass of drinking water daily. This will not only boost your immune system and metabolism; it will also improve your overall health and well-being.

LEMON AND HONEY FACE MASK:
Squeeze fresh juice from 1/2  lemon  and add 2 tablespoons of honey to a non-metallic bowl. (metal will cause a chemical reaction) Mix the ingredients well.  Pull hair back away from face (Wear a head band or scarf to keep hair away from face; thus avoiding sticky mask from getting into hair.)

  • Cleanse face with gentle facial cleanser and pat dry.
  • Apply mask to face in circular motion; avoid delicate eye area.
  • Leave mask on for 15-20 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water
  • Follow with a gentle toner
  • Finish by applying a moisturizer specifically for your skin type

Note: Use a moisturizer with sunscreen of SPF15 or 25min or a moisturizing nutritive night cream, if cleansing and applying mask in the evening.

In Upcoming post, I'll go over a few products that are very effective in providing and retaining moisture in winter skin, for each skin type and condition. We will also explore the best way of hydrating (in addition to water intake) and Protecting the skin with safer sunscreen products.
